Description. Get more performance for your power consumption and improve your system’s lifespan with the efficient Dual Core E7500.
The 45nm process used in this device reduces power consumption to 65W. Not only does this low consumption reduce your electricity usage, it also leads to lower temperatures, helping to improve your system’s longevity.
Intel’s Enhanced SpeedStep Technology and Idle States improve efficiency even further, ensuring it consumes only as much power as necessary. However, just because this system is efficient doesn’t mean it lags behind on performance. With a Front Side Bus speed of 1066 MHz and a 3MB L2 cache, this processor gives quick access to data and keeps up with demanding games and enterprise applications. This balanced mixture of power and efficiency allow this processor to fit well in both home and business situations. Basicly PnP if your chipset and bios match up with it. The 2.93 was about 15.00 cheaper then the 3.0's & higher that were floating around @ the time, and ALOT more common. This processor lets me play batman Arkham City when my Pentium dual core @ 2.5 GHz that it replaced wouldn't.It also showed a marked improvement in windows rating & heaven bench mark increased several frames per. It's a nice work horse cpu,not too flashy, but does the job.Windows downloaded the current intel driver for the processor, but the dual core driver that was loaded worked to start the system.
Current support is ended, but drivers are still available for windows 7 (32&64bit)on intels site.Don't remember if 8 & above were on site, but Windows 10 preview played VERY well with the current configuration.I will probably drop some more of these into system upgrades as they come a long.(singlecore celerons,or 1.9GHz pentiums come to mind as prime candidates for replacement with 1 of these. The main thing to keep in mind,is ck your board for CPU compatibility.use google or intels site.If intel board, they list compat cpu's.
Core 2 Duo Graphics Driver
Stable, super-fast, reasonably priced. Incredible Processor! This is a great replacement upgrade for any Celeron chip that inhabits an LGA775 Socket.
Celeron's are the bargain-basement crap CPU's that winds up in low-end bargain PC's. The Celeron chip usually is lacking in L2 Cache which makes for a slow PC when taxed with the most simple of computing assignments. Simple web-browsing becomes tedious with the Celeron. This Intel Core 2 Duo Processor has a 3mb Cache and has two cores. It basically turns a Ford Pinto into a supped up Ford Mustang! Great upgrade but make sure of stepping / compatibility!
The only reason I am giving this product only 3 stars is because it didn't work in my motherboard. Something to do with the stepping.
It might work in another board; but I don't have one to test it with. So I don't even really know if the chip works. If it were to be confirmed to work, it would get at least 4 stars from me - it's no quad core, or 8xxx series chip, but the E7500 is no slouch based on the working E7400 I have. My plan is to get another LGA 775 board and RAM and use this chip for a build for my wife. She was happy with my E6550, and she's been using a mobile i5 for a while, which is about the same speed as this. If it doesn't work. Well, I still have the old E6550.
